How about an intimate show at the Cactus Cafe with some of Austin's best songwriters?
It's overwhelming when you see how many shows are going on every night in Austin. Luckily, when you come to a parlor show you can be guaranteed to get a curated experience with top artists in the ideal environment.
When the doors open at 7, I'll have Dana Marie and Camille Scheiss playing standup bass and violin as we get drinks and good seats.
While this is technically the pre-show, it always ends up being a highlight of the evening.
At 7:30 Matthew Payne's songs will transport you back to the glory days of songwriting in Austin. His lyrics are timeless, inspired by Texas, and his rhythmic playing style is totally unique.
At 8:10 BettySoo is taking a break from her constant touring around the country to grace our stage and will share her heartfelt song with us.
At 8:50, I (Jake) will play my poetic folk songs laced with stories, complex guitar parts, and my wife Emily's haunting vocal harmonies.
The Cactus Cafe has long been a treasured venue in Austin. With dedicated sound engineers, a full selection of craft beverages, and a spotlit stage, there will be no better vibe in town.
A lot of the same people come to this show every month, so it is a great way to meet folks that love music just as much as you!
