2017-2018 ECB Members

Events CoSponsorship Board Members 2018-2019

The Student Events Funding Committee (SEFC) provides financial support for registered student organizations (RSOs) to produce quality events at The University of Texas at Austin. Every year, members of SEFC allocate $71,000 in funding to support these RSOs and their on-campus events that are open to all students. Many organizations seek SEFC funding, but with a limited budget, SEFC will carefully consider each application to determine eligibility and funding allocation.

Applying for funding is simple! Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Fill out the ECB application here.
  2. Once your application is accepted by the committee, you will be contacted to schedule a presentation time. Your organization will present at a SEFC Funding Meeting.
You will have 10 minutes at the meeting to help us understand your vision and answer any questions. There is no presentation materials accepted.
  3. Submit your application at least 6 weeks before your event date
This gives us time to review and support your event properly.

While we strive to support student organizations as much as we can, there are some limitations on what we can fund. Here are some guidelines to help you as you fill out your funding application.

Some of the items we fund are:

  • Advertising
  • Decorations and supplies
  • Vendor fees
  • Talent fees
  • Venue fees
  • Service fees

Some of the items we do NOT fund are:

  • Food
  • Reusable items
    • Reusable items consist of items that go beyond the event being funded. For example, T-shirts are not able to be funded by SEFC. This also includes items that organizations intend to invest in for multiple uses in the future.
  • Prizes
  • Student talent
  • Travel expenses and parking permits

Funding applications are accepted all year long. SEFC requires that applications are submitted and that the RSO must present at an SEFC meeting at least 6 weeks before a planned event and encourages organizations to make sure their requests meet our funding guidelines.
